Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes wrote a post on his official Whatsapp channel the day after the team’s 1-1 draw against Mallorca. Although some suggested that this post was fake, Rodrygo’s camp confirmed that it wasn’t, and said that the post was taken down after people “misinterpreted it”. Here’s what the post said.
“Hi guys, yesterday the result was not what we wanted. In La Liga every point makes the difference in the end. I’m happy with the goal and with the growth of the team. Last week they talked about the trio of Bellingham, Mbappe and Vini, but they are going to have to add the R of Rodrygo to that acronym. We have a quartet of attackers and the rest of the team. They all have their importance in the games and will show their value in the different competitions in which we participate. The week will be full of hard work until our next match at the Bernabeu.”
Rodrygo was addressing some Spanish outlets who had named Real Madrid’s new offense ‘The BMV’ after Bellingham, Mbappe and Vinicius, omitting Rodrygo from that acronym and also from the headlines and front pages after Real Madrid conquered the UEFA Supercup.
The Brazilian attacker deleted this post from his Whatsapp channel after seeing that it had created some controversy on Social Media like X or Instagram.
Other fans didn’t think that the post was controversial at all. Which side are you on?
