The Argentine footballer recalled his clashes with Vinícius Júnior, and took the opportunity to criticize him for his attitude.
Since the first time they had a clash in the middle of a match between Real Madrid and Mallorca , they did not stop provoking each other. Pablo Maffeo and Vinícius Júnior have been great protagonists of spicy duels, where the Argentine full-back has not only criticised the Brazilian with gestures, but also with words.
Over the last few hours, the Mallorca defender was alongside his teammate Antonio Raíllo on the comedy show La Buena Chispa, where they recalled the clashes they had with the 24-year-old winger who lost the last Ballon d’Or against Rodri, the Spanish midfielder from Manchester City.
The central defender of the Mallorcan team explained why they have so many clashes with the former Flamengo when they face the Merengue and highlighted: “We like to heat up the atmosphere, that’s where we move well. And if he starts running we don’t catch him…” And that’s where Maffeo joined in, who pointed directly at the native of São Gonçalo: “He cries a lot”.
Although Maffeo was born in Sant Joan Despí, he is Argentine on his mother’s side. And he had previously had clashes with Vini, to whom he made “pouty” gestures with his mouth and also called him a “crybaby”, making faces with his hands, bringing them to his eyes. It should be noted that, despite the strong clashes, in the last match they embraced each other after the first half.
The rivalry between Vinicius and Maffeo
The feud between these two footballers is nothing new, since it began in the 2021/22 season, when Vinicius teased the Argentine because they were fighting relegation and there he responded publicly: “I have nothing against him, I think he’s a great player, but when last year you’re playing for what you’re playing for and he tells you that you’re going to go to Segunda, well, it’s annoying,” he said.
And he added, pointing out the attitude of the 24-year-old Brazilian striker: “ My mother told me that it couldn’t be that all the teachers had a grudge against me when I misbehaved. I think the same thing happens with him. It’s not that we all have a grudge against him, it’s just that there might be something there.”
Furthermore, in another match they played last season, Maffeo began to make gestures to Vinicius to make him understand that he is a crybaby , due to his repetitive complaints about the fouls he receives in each match with the Real Madrid shirt.
