8. Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria)

Named after the Brazilian legend due to his immense talent, the Ghanaian playmaker won the African Footballer of the Year award three consecutive times. He was the creative engine behind Marseille’s 1993 Champions League triumph, cementing his legacy as one of the best attacking midfielders of his era.

6. Sadio Mané (Senegal)

One of the finest wingers of the modern era, Sadio Mané’s explosive pace, pressing, and clinical finishing made him a cornerstone of Jurgen Klopp’s all-conquering Liverpool side. Yaya Touré was a force of nature. An incredibly versatile and powerful box-to-box midfielder, he dictated the tempo of games like few others. After winning the Champions League with Barcelona, he moved to Manchester City, where he became a club legend and the driving force behind their early Premier League dominance. He won the African Player of the Year award a record four consecutive times.

4. Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast)

The ultimate big-game player. Didier Drogba was a nightmare for defenders, combining sheer physical dominance with a lethal finishing instinct. He scored crucial goals in multiple cup finals for Chelsea, most notably heading the equalizer and scoring the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final. 2. George Weah (Liberia)
