Vinicius Jr criticized for making “ridiculous” gesture towards Barcelona fans

Barcelona beat Real Madrid in a historic El Clasico to secure their second straight league title on Sunday night. Vinicius and Los Blancos were held quiet for most of the evening, but Vinicius had one last message for Los Cules before Barcelona lifted the title.

Vini didn’t dampen Camp Nou mood

The Camp Nou was in full force from early on in the evening. They could smell the title before the opening whistle, and two early goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres only added to the atmosphere in Barcelona.

Real Madrid had a tough time building anything in the attacking third, but when they did they tried to build through Vinicius. The local fans made sure they were heard every time the Brazilian had the ball at his feet, and that would carry on through the night.

At one point in the second half, Vinicius started to interact with the fans who were ready to celebrate their 29th league title. Real Madrid’s number 7 made a gesture to the fans making a one and a five with his fingers. The gesture referred to the 15 Champions Leagues Real Madrid has won.

Barcelona went on to close out the night and the league with a 2-0 win, and the celebrations commenced from the Catalan capital. Before leaving the pitch, Vinicius was among the many Real Madrid players who went over and congratulated the winning team’s players and coaching staff before heading to the locker room.
