Harry Kane has made Bundesliga history by reaching 100 league goals in only 98 appearances, smashing a record that had stood for almost 50 years.
Harry Kane smashes Bundesliga record with historic 100th goal
Harry Kane has made Bundesliga history after becoming the fastest player ever to score 100 goals in Germany’s top division.

The Bayern Munich striker reached the incredible milestone during his side’s dominant 7-0 victory over Union Berlin.
Kane needed only 98 Bundesliga appearances to reach 100 goals.
In doing so, he broke a record that had stood for almost 50 years.
Kane reaches 100 Bundesliga goals
Kane entered the match against Union Berlin with 99 Bundesliga goals.
He did not have to wait long to reach three figures.
Michael Olise was fouled inside the penalty area during the first half, giving Bayern the chance to extend their lead.
Kane stepped forward and calmly converted the penalty in the 39th minute.
That goal was the 100th Bundesliga goal of his career.
But Kane was not finished.
He scored again in the second half to move onto 101 Bundesliga goals before the final whistle.
Kane breaks a 49-year Bundesliga record
The achievement was even more impressive because of how quickly Kane reached the milestone.
The previous record belonged to former Cologne striker Dieter Müller.
Müller needed 129 matches to score his first 100 Bundesliga goals in 1977.

Kane reached the same total in only 98 matches, 31 fewer than the previous record.
No player in Bundesliga history has ever reached 100 league goals faster.
Kane’s incredible scoring rate
Kane has produced extraordinary numbers since joining Bayern from Tottenham in 2023.
According to Bundesliga statistics, the England captain has scored approximately once every 78.5 minutes in the competition.
That scoring rate is better than several of the greatest forwards in Bundesliga history.

Erling Haaland averaged around one goal every 87 minutes during his time in Germany.
Robert Lewandowski averaged around one every 100 minutes, while legendary Bayern striker Gerd Müller averaged one every 105 minutes.
Kane’s numbers show just how quickly he has adapted to German football.
101 goals after only 98 matches
Reaching 100 goals was not the end of Kane’s night against Union Berlin.
In the 54th minute, Olise created another chance for the Bayern striker.
Kane finished it to score his second goal of the match.

That meant he ended his 98th Bundesliga appearance with 101 league goals.
Bayern eventually completed a huge 7-0 victory as their attack produced another impressive performance.
Three incredible seasons in Germany
Kane’s record becomes even more impressive when looking at his first three full Bundesliga seasons.
He scored 36 league goals in his first campaign after arriving from Tottenham.
He followed that with 26 goals in his second season before scoring another 36 in his third.
Kane also became the first player to win the Bundesliga top-scorer award in each of his first three seasons in the competition.
His goals helped turn him into one of the biggest stars in German football.
Kane moves ahead of Bundesliga legends
Many legendary strikers have played in the Bundesliga.
Gerd Müller, Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland all produced incredible scoring records in Germany.
But none of them reached 100 Bundesliga goals as quickly as Kane.

The England captain is now officially the fastest player in the competition’s history to reach the landmark.
And because Kane has already moved onto 101, attention will quickly turn to how many more records he can break.
His Bayern numbers are becoming remarkable
Kane’s goals have not only come in the Bundesliga.
He has also been extremely productive in the Champions League and domestic cup competitions.
His overall Bayern record now stands at more than 150 goals across all competitions.
For a player who only arrived in Munich in 2023, the speed of his scoring has been extraordinary.
Kane has developed into the main goalscorer in Bayern’s attack and continues to deliver season after season.
A historic night for Harry Kane
Bayern’s 7-0 victory was already a memorable result.
For Kane, however, the night became even more special.
He started the match one goal away from 100.
He finished it with 101.
And along the way, he broke one of the Bundesliga’s longest-standing scoring records.
Harry Kane needed just 98 matches to do something no player in Bundesliga history had ever achieved so quickly.
Almost three years after arriving in Germany, the England captain continues to rewrite the record books.
And at his current scoring rate, the 100-goal mark may only be the beginning of an even bigger Bundesliga story.
