L’Équipe has also confirmed the agreement between the clubs and reports that Ferran is expected to sign a five-year contract once the remaining formalities are completed.
The move is therefore significantly more advanced than a simple transfer negotiation.

The strongest development in the last 24 hours has been Ferran’s departure from Spain.
Cadena SER reported on Friday that the Spanish international was flying to Paris after Barcelona and PSG reached their agreement. A separate report from the same network stated that Ferran was already in the French capital and waiting to undergo his medical.
That represents the clearest indication yet that the operation is now approaching completion.
Earlier in the week, Ferran had been given permission not to resume normal Barcelona training while negotiations continued, reducing the risk of an injury disrupting the deal. L’Équipe reported that his departure was already sufficiently advanced for him to remain away from the group while Barça and PSG worked on the final transfer conditions.
Now the striker has taken the next step by travelling to the city where he is expected to continue his career.
PSG and Barcelona agree deal worth around €50m
L’Équipe reports that PSG and Barcelona reached an agreement valued at approximately €50 million. Ferran is expected to sign for five years, potentially keeping him at the Parc des Princes until 2031.
ESPN has independently reported the same broad valuation, describing the agreement in principle between Barcelona and PSG as being worth around €50 million.
There have been minor differences between reports over the exact final amount, but €50 million is currently the figure most consistently reported by major sources.
Until either club publishes the full financial terms, it is safest to describe the operation as worth around €50m rather than treating every euro of the reported fee as officially confirmed.
The €50m price may have been carefully chosen
One of the most intriguing details surrounding the agreement concerns Barcelona’s previous deal with Manchester City.
Cadena SER reports that Barça’s purchase of Ferran from City contained a clause under which the English club would receive an additional €10 million if Barcelona later sold the forward for more than €55 million.
The same report claims another provision would have required Barcelona to pay City between €7 million and €8 million if Ferran signed a new contract at the Catalan club.
If those reported clauses are accurate, selling Ferran for €50 million gives Barcelona an interesting financial advantage.
They receive a substantial transfer fee.
They remove his salary from the wage bill.
And, according to Cadena SER, they avoid triggering either of those additional payments to Manchester City.
It should be stressed that these clauses have been reported by Cadena SER and have not been publicly detailed by Barcelona or Manchester City.
Why Ferran Torres chose PSG
The move also makes sporting sense from Ferran’s perspective.
He will reunite with Luis Enrique, who knows the forward exceptionally well from their time together with the Spanish national team.
Ferran has frequently produced some of his best international football under Luis Enrique, and the PSG coach values his ability to operate in several attacking positions.
L’Équipe reports that the French champions have been building a reshaped attack and regard Ferran as an important addition because he can contribute centrally as well as from wider areas.
He also arrives with his reputation at a particularly high point after playing a decisive role in Spain’s 2026 World Cup triumph.
Ferran scored the only goal in Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the World Cup final, a moment that dramatically strengthened his position entering the summer transfer market.
PSG are therefore not simply buying a Barcelona squad player.
