Carlo Ancelotti has officially confirmed that superstar Neymar Jr. will recover in time and feature in the final Group C match against Scotland at the 2026 World Cup.
This is seen as the greatest possible morale boost for the Brazilian national team after a somewhat shaky start. Previously, the 34-year-old midfielder currently playing for Santos had to miss the first two matches—a disappointing 1-1 draw against Morocco and a relieving 3-0 victory against Haiti—due to a grade two calf injury sustained on May 17.

Sharing about his star player’s situation, the Italian strategist stated that Neymar will begin individual drills this weekend before officially returning to full team training on June 22. The Brazilian coaching staff expects him to reach peak physical condition to take the field this coming June 24.
“Neymar’s return at this time is extremely important. He not only brings breakthroughs to our playstyle but is also a solid spiritual anchor for his teammates,” Coach Ancelotti emphasized during the press conference after the victory against Haiti.
The situation in Group C is currently unfolding in a highly unpredictable manner. Brazil is leading with 4 points (slightly ahead of Morocco on goal difference), while Scotland is trailing closely behind with 3 points. With this narrow margin, Neymar’s presence is expected to help the Samba dancers secure all 3 points against the European representatives, thereby officially entering the knockout stage as group leaders.
