Argentina recreates the history 88 years after its victory with Egypt

After being led by two goals, Argentina came from behind to defeat Egypt 3-2. Rarely has any national team in history done that in a World Cup knockout round.

Argentina has just become the second national team in history not from Europe to win a World Cup knockout match despite being trailed by two goals. Historical statistics show that the only time a non-European team did this was Brazil on June 19, 1938, when they came from behind to beat Sweden 4-2.

After the victory over Egypt, Lionel Scaloni and his players will clash with Switzerland in the quarter-finals. The confrontation between the two teams will take place this coming July 11.
