Manchester United is closing in on signing Youri Tielemans after deciding to activate the Belgian midfielder’s €41 million release clause.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United activated Youri Tielemans’s €41 million release clause at Aston Villa on the afternoon of July 13. The Italian expert simultaneously used his familiar phrase “Here we go!”, indicating that the deal is almost completed.
In addition to accepting to pay the fee according to the release clause, the Old Trafford home team also reached a verbal agreement with Tielemans regarding personal terms. If no obstacles arise in the final procedures, the Belgian international will become the next new signing of the “Red Devils” this summer.
Romano stated that the Tielemans deal was advanced right after Manchester United completed the recruitment of Andrey Santos.
