Turkish club openly speaks about Salah transfer

French outlet Foot Mercato reported on Saturday that Trabzonspor was ready to sign Mo Salah amidst interest from Besiktas. There was even speculation that Salah could be unveiled during the club’s 59th anniversary celebrations.

However, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has dismissed speculation regarding an agreement between the two sides. He also denied reports claiming that Salah would arrive in Trabzon on Sunday.

He told Turkish outlet A Spor: “There is no such agreement, regarding plans to bring him to Trabzon, there is no such plan; there is nothing related to that at all.

If there were such a plan, the information would be provided from our side, the press would be informed. And there wouldn’t be a situation where the media has to ask us back like this”.

Although Dogan admitted he would love to bring a player of Salah’s caliber to Trabzonspor, he asserted that no agreement has been signed: “Salah is a very professional, highly successful, and world-renowned player.

He is one of the players with the most outstanding careers. Of course, who wouldn’t want Salah? But signing him is another matter”.

When asked whether he had spoken with Salah, he replied: “I don’t want to talk about this. Of course, the fans want to see a player like Salah, and so do I.

Signing certain players requires a specific stance and conduct. That is what I am trying to do as the current president. I know everyone is focusing on this; no agreement has been made, no trip has been planned. We will make an announcement as soon as there are new developments
