Real Madrid offered Vinicius Junior a salary of around €22 million per season, but this figure remains lower than the Brazilian forward’s demands.
Real Madrid resumed extension negotiations with Vinicius following the 2026 World Cup, putting an end to a prolonged period of stalled talks.
According to ESPN, the Bernabeu side raised their offer to around €22 million per season. Although significantly higher than his current salary, this figure still falls short of Vinicius’ €30 million demand.
The 26-year-old forward currently earns around €17.5 million per year. His representative views this as the most important contract of his career and wants Real Madrid to appropriately recognize the Brazilian player’s contributions.
Vinicius joined Real Madrid in 2018 and quickly became a mainstay. He scored in two Champions League finals, contributing significantly to the Spanish side’s recent era of success.
Vinicius’ current contract expires in June 2027. If an extension cannot be reached, Real Madrid risks losing him on a free transfer after the 2026/27 season.
From January 2027, Vinicius will have the right to negotiate and sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation and are considered one of the clubs interested in the Brazil international.
Real Madrid could therefore consider selling Vinicius in the summer of 2026 if negotiations remain deadlocked. The Royal Club does not want to lose one of the most valuable players in their squad for nothing.
Vinicius returned to the Valdebebas training center on August 3 following his post-World Cup break. He completed medical tests and entered his first training session under manager Jose Mourinho.
Raising the offer demonstrates that Real Madrid still wants to retain Vinicius. However, the €8 million per season gap means his future at the Bernabeu will not be resolved anytime soon.
