To stop Arsenal from trying to sign him, Real Madrid have made a new contract offer worth €30 million per year to keep Vinicius Junior at the club.
According to The Athletic, this move came right after a face-to-face meeting between CEO Jose Angel Sanchez, Head of Scouting Juni Calafat, and the Brazilian forward’s representatives on Wednesday in Madrid, Spain.
At the moment, the Brazil international is asking for a package worth around €30 million per year, including his basic salary, performance bonuses, and a signing bonus for renewing his contract. Although Real Madrid had previously rejected this figure, their latest offer shows that the club are now willing to compromise to keep one of their key players, as his current deal will expire in the summer of 2027.
The pressure on “Los Blancos” is growing as Arsenal have identified the 26-year-old forward as one of their main transfer targets. “The Gunners” are ready to make a move for Vinicius if contract talks with Real Madrid break down. The Brazilian star now has three options: sign a new contract, continue with his plan to become a free agent, or move to the Premier League.
Keeping Vinicius is considered Real Madrid’s top priority, both on the pitch and from a commercial point of view. Since joining from Flamengo in 2018, he has scored 128 goals and provided 100 assists in 375 appearances.
Vinicius has won an impressive collection of trophies with the Spanish giants, including three La Liga titles and two UEFA Champions League titles. He has also won one Copa del Rey, three Spanish Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cup titles.
