Raphinha has been named La Liga Player of the Month for September after an incredible run for Barcelona, beating Kylian Mbappe and winning the award for the second month in a row.
Raphinha Beats Mbappé to Win La Liga Player of the Month After Incredible September
Raphinha has beaten Kylian Mbappé and the other leading candidates to win the EA SPORTS La Liga Player of the Month award for September.

The Barcelona captain enjoyed an incredible month, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in only four league matches.
His performances helped Barcelona win every La Liga game they played during September.
Even more impressively, Raphinha has now won the award for two consecutive months after also being named La Liga’s best player in August.
Raphinha beats Mbappé to September award
La Liga officially confirmed Raphinha as the winner following the latest fan vote.
The Brazilian faced strong competition from several players, including Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé.

The other nominees included Jonathan David, Sergio Camello and Fer Niño.
But after a spectacular month for Barcelona, Raphinha received the award.
La Liga did not publish the exact voting percentages, so the size of Raphinha’s victory over Mbappé is not known.
Seven goals and two assists in four matches
Raphinha’s September numbers explain why he was such a strong candidate.
Across four La Liga matches, the Barcelona forward produced:
7 goals
2 assists
He scored against Valencia before producing two extraordinary performances later in the month.

Raphinha scored hat-tricks in consecutive league matches against Racing Santander and Sevilla.
Those back-to-back hat-tricks turned an excellent month into a remarkable one.
Barcelona win every game
Raphinha’s individual numbers also came during a perfect month for Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s side won all four of their La Liga matches in September.
Those results helped Barça strengthen their position at the top of the table.

Raphinha was at the centre of that success with goals, assists and important attacking performances.
His form made him one of the biggest reasons behind Barcelona’s perfect league run.
Second Player of the Month award in a row
The September prize is not Raphinha’s first award of the season.
He had already been named La Liga Player of the Month for August.
That means the Barcelona captain has now won:
August Player of the Month
September Player of the Month
Raphinha has therefore taken both Player of the Month awards available so far in the 2026/27 La Liga season.
Few players could have asked for a stronger start to the campaign.
Third La Liga Player of the Month award
This is also the third time Raphinha has won the award during his career in Spain.
His previous victories came in:
August 2024
August 2026
September 2026

According to Barcelona, that puts him joint sixth on the all-time list of players with the most La Liga Player of the Month awards.
He is now level with several players, including former Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.
Raphinha also leads Mbappé in scoring race
Raphinha’s dominance is not limited to individual monthly awards.
The Barcelona star currently leads the Pichichi race with:
12 La Liga goals.

Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal and Sergio Camello are all on seven.
That leaves Raphinha five goals clear of Mbappé and the other closest challengers.
His scoring numbers are particularly impressive for a player whose game also involves creating chances for team-mates.
Barcelona dominate September awards
Raphinha was not the only Barcelona figure recognised by La Liga.
Hansi Flick was named Coach of the Month after guiding Barça through a perfect September.
João Cancelo also won Goal of the Month for his strike against Racing Santander.
It completed a dominant month of individual awards for Barcelona.
Raphinha’s incredible start continues
Raphinha has started the new season in exceptional form.
He has already collected two consecutive Player of the Month awards, leads La Liga’s scoring charts and remains one of Barcelona’s most important attacking players.
Mbappé remains one of his biggest rivals in both the individual awards and goalscoring race.
But September belonged to Raphinha.
Seven goals, two assists, four Barcelona victories and another Player of the Month trophy have confirmed his extraordinary start to the season.
