Star defender of Inter Milan and the Italy national team, Alessandro Bastoni, is becoming the center of public attention as he is investigated by authorities over allegations related to an underage prostitution ring.
According to reports from the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation targeting Bastoni is part of an expanded campaign to sweep away a high-end “call girl” ring for VIP clients. The case stems from messages seized during the investigation of an event company – a unit specializing in organizing “all-inclusive” parties for important figures in the football world.
Specifically, the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport states that Bastoni is accused of paying to have sex with a 17-year-old girl in June 2020. Because this girl was under the age of majority at that time, this act constitutes the crime of buying sex from a minor under Italian law.
The shocking evidence includes a conversation between a broker and this player. In it, the broker messaged: “I think this underage girl wants to sleep with you.” Bastoni is said to have responded: “Is there anywhere for us to hide there?”. When the agent proposed bringing the girl to his house, the defender seemingly agreed.
Facing these serious allegations, Bastoni’s lawyer, Mr. Salvatore Scuto, declared: “My client is very shocked. I completely reject that he had paid sex, let alone involving a minor.” Notably, the girl involved, despite admitting to having stayed at Bastoni’s house, affirmed that the two never had physical relations.
This is the next “low point” in Bastoni’s series of dark days. Previously, he was fiercely criticized for a red card in the defeat against Bosnia, causing Italy to miss out on a World Cup ticket for the third consecutive time.
