Carrick witnessed his two top targets, Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, move to Man City and Tottenham. MU is also said to be interested in players like Sandro Tonali, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton, while Chelsea’s Andrey Santos has recently emerged as a new target for Carrick. MU reaches an agreement to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea.

Last week, it was reported that MU had expressed interest in Santos, who has struggled to find game time since moving to Chelsea in 2023. According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign the Brazilian for £50 million.

MU will pay an initial fee of £48 million for Santos plus £2 million in add-ons. The above source added that Santos has reached personal terms with MU and has been permitted to travel to Old Trafford for a medical.

Santos ranks behind Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea signed Santos from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama 3 years ago, but the 22-year-old only started getting game time for the west London club last season, making 43 appearances in all competitions.
