According to Diario AS, Florentino Perez has just been re-elected as president of Real Madrid until 2030. Immediately after taking office, the “tycoon” affirmed his determination to lead the Royal club to its 16th Champions League final in history.
Florentino Perez will continue to hold the position of Real Madrid president after defeating his opponent Enrique Riquelme in the election that took place last Sunday. This victory means the 79-year-old leader will guide the team until 2030.
Right after the presidential race concluded, Florentino Perez delivered a victory speech. According to Diario AS, he asserted that this election result is the second-best in the club’s history: “This is a very happy day for Real Madrid.”
“I sincerely thank you for your support, because without those votes, we could not have won. We led at all polling stations and achieved the second-best result in the club’s electoral history.”
Regarding the opponent’s objection to the results, he emphasized: “The results could have been even better if they had not challenged our votes. However, we do not want to appeal. We have set an example of transparency and democracy.”
In his new term, President Florentino Perez’s biggest goal is to bring the Champions League title back to the Bernabeu. He affirmed: “I want to continue building a club that always leads all rankings in the world.”
“All efforts are to continue winning until we reach our 16th European Cup final. I will do everything I can to address the concerns of the members who did not vote for me.”
