Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have reportedly decided to postpone their wedding after the Portugal national team’s early exit from the 2026 World Cup.
According to Portuguese media, the couple had planned to hold their wedding on July 20, 2026. This timing was not chosen by chance, as it is the period immediately after the World Cup final. Ronaldo had hoped to conclude the tournament with a championship with the Portugal national team before stepping into an important milestone in his personal life.

Before the tournament kicked off, Ronaldo shared his desire to win the World Cup in a conversation with journalist Piers Morgan. Therefore, the plan to organize the wedding right after the tournament was seen as deeply meaningful, as an occasion to celebrate both career success and family happiness.
However, things did not go as expected. The Portugal national team was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup by Spain, leaving Ronaldo’s dream of lifting the golden trophy unfulfilled once again. In that context, keeping the original wedding date was considered no longer appropriate.
The source stated that Ronaldo felt that if the wedding were still held on July 20, right after the World Cup concludes, it could unintentionally create a feeling of celebrating along with the tournament champions, rather than marking a complete moment dedicated exclusively to him and his family.
Therefore, Ronaldo and Georgina agreed to postpone the wedding and have not yet set a new date. Even so, the relationship between the two is said to be unaffected as both continue to accompany each other in life and care for their children after a volatile summer.
