After making an initial payment of more than $1.7 million, approximately $12.6 million remains outstanding.

That would potentially extend Santos’ financial obligations connected to Neymar’s image rights until around the middle of 2033.

The total amount recognised by Santos was approximately $14.3 million.

The club has already paid more than $1.7 million toward that figure, reducing the outstanding balance to roughly $12.6 million.

Santos could still be paying Neymar in 2033

This is not the first time Santos and Neymar’s camp have attempted to restructure the image-rights obligation.

Those difficulties forced the two sides back into negotiations and ultimately produced the latest arrangement based on smaller monthly payments.

This is separate from the Monaco transfer-ban deal

The image-rights agreement should not be confused with another recent financial arrangement involving Santos and NR Sports.

Neymar’s family company recently provided approximately $1.9 million in immediate funding to help Santos settle a debt with Monaco connected to the transfer of Jean Lucas.

That payment allowed Santos to resolve the issue that had triggered a FIFA transfer ban.

NR Sports helped Santos despite being owed millions
