Lamine Yamal’s uncle has sparked controversy after questioning Harry Kane’s 2026 Ballon d’Or victory. Abdul insists his nephew deserved the trophy and makes a shocking comment about Kane’s career.
Lamine Yamal’s Uncle Attacks Harry Kane After 2026 Ballon d’Or Victory
Harry Kane’s historic 2026 Ballon d’Or victory has sparked fresh controversy after a member of Lamine Yamal’s family publicly criticised the Bayern Munich superstar.

Kane won the prestigious award in London on October 26, finishing ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal.
However, Yamal’s uncle Abdul Abdellaoui was far from happy with the result.
He insisted that his nephew deserved the award and made several controversial comments about Kane’s football career.
Yamal’s uncle strongly criticises Harry Kane
Speaking to Spanish radio programme El Larguero, Abdul expressed his disappointment after Yamal finished third in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
He claimed that the Barcelona winger was the best footballer in the world and deserved to finish ahead of Kane.
“If you like football, you go to see Lamine, not Harry Kane,” Abdul said.

Although he admitted that Kane was an excellent goalscorer, Abdul argued that Yamal was a more exciting and complete player.
He also highlighted his nephew’s achievements with Barcelona and Spain, including winning the 2026 World Cup, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.
Shocking comment about Kane’s career
Abdul then made an even more controversial statement about the England captain.
He jokingly suggested that Kane had only a few days left in his football career and had been given the Ballon d’Or because Yamal was still young.

The comment appeared to suggest that Kane had received special treatment because he might not have many more chances to win the award.
However, there is no evidence that Kane’s victory was influenced by his age or that the voting process was unfair.
Abdul predicts five Ballon d’Or titles for Yamal
Despite his disappointment, Abdul remains confident about his nephew’s future.
He boldly predicted that Yamal would eventually win five Ballon d’Or awards during his career.

The 19-year-old has already made history by becoming the first player to win three consecutive Kopa Trophies.
However, he is still waiting for his first senior Ballon d’Or.
Kane remains the official 2026 Ballon d’Or winner
Despite the criticism, Kane secured the award after an outstanding season with Bayern Munich and England.
The 33-year-old scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for club and country, helping Bayern win the Bundesliga and German Cup.
He also became the first English player to win the Ballon d’Or since Michael Owen in 2001.
Meanwhile, Yamal publicly congratulated the winners and expressed confidence that his own moment would come in the future.
Although Abdul’s comments have added another debate to the 2026 Ballon d’Or, they remain personal opinions rather than evidence that Kane’s victory was unfair.
