Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to be holding his wedding with Georgina Rodriguez in Madeira, the island where he was born and raised, next weekend.
According to local sources, the couple chose Madeira as the location for their wedding after nearly a decade together. The cathedral in Funchal, the island’s capital, is reportedly booked for a major wedding ceremony next Saturday.
Ronaldo, 41, grew up in Funchal before rising to become one of the greatest players in football history. Meanwhile, Georgina Rodriguez, 32, is of dual Spanish and Argentine heritage. The two met in 2016, and Ronaldo proposed to his girlfriend in August 2025.
Sources say the couple booked the nearby 5-star Savoy Palace hotel to host the wedding reception. Some guests staying at the hotel were notified that two floors along with several bar areas will temporarily cease operations during the two-day event.
Last week, Ronaldo and Georgina were spotted both wearing diamond rings as they boarded a yacht in Majorca (Spain), sparking speculation that the wedding is drawing near.
Previously, the Portuguese superstar revealed plans to get married after the 2026 World Cup concluded. The Portugal national team exited against Spain in the round of 16 on July 7, and “La Roja” subsequently marched straight to the final to win the championship.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo once said: “I hope to walk into my wedding with the championship trophy”. He also affirmed that Georgina is the only woman who makes him want to build a long-term life.
If confirmed, Madeira will become the place to witness the most significant milestone in the life of the striker who conquered Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and the Portugal national team.
