Erling Haaland has broken another Premier League record after scoring twice against Ipswich Town. The Manchester City striker reached 100 non-penalty goals faster than any player in the competition’s history.
Haaland Makes Premier League History by Breaking Alan Shearer’s 30-Year Record
Erling Haaland has officially made Premier League history after breaking a remarkable record previously held by legendary striker Alan Shearer.

The Manchester City superstar scored twice in his team’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town on October 17.
His second goal was especially important because it took him to an incredible milestone.
Haaland has now become the fastest player in Premier League history to score 100 goals without counting penalties.
Haaland breaks 30-year Premier League record
According to Opta, Haaland reached 100 non-penalty Premier League goals in just 139 appearances.

The previous record belonged to Alan Shearer, who needed 150 matches to reach the same milestone.
That means Haaland has broken Shearer’s long-standing record by 11 games.
The achievement is even more impressive because it only counts goals scored from open play and other non-penalty situations.
It is another example of Haaland’s extraordinary scoring ability since joining Manchester City in 2022.
Haaland scores twice against Ipswich
Manchester City faced a difficult challenge against Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium.
Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Daizen Maeda equalised just two minutes later.

Haaland then restored City’s lead in the 34th minute with a powerful header following a cross from Mateo Kovacic.
The Norwegian scored again in the 69th minute after receiving a pass from Iliman Ndiaye, taking his non-penalty Premier League total to 100.
He almost completed a hat-trick, but another goal was ruled out because of an offside decision.
Ipswich scored a late penalty through Zian Flemming, but City held on to secure a 3-2 victory.
Haaland continues incredible scoring form
Haaland’s latest double continued his excellent start to the 2026-27 season.
The 26-year-old has now scored eight Premier League goals this campaign, putting him at the top of the scoring charts.

His performances have been crucial to Manchester City’s impressive start under Enzo Maresca.
Haaland has also reached another major milestone while continuing to challenge some of the greatest goalscorers in Premier League history.
Manchester City make history too
Haaland was not the only person celebrating a major record after the match.
Manchester City’s victory over Ipswich was their seventh consecutive Premier League win at the start of the season.

It also gave manager Enzo Maresca a remarkable achievement.
Maresca became the first manager in Premier League history to win his opening seven league matches in charge of a club.
City now have 21 points from seven matches and remain at the top of the Premier League table.
Injury concern after historic performance
However, Haaland’s record-breaking night also ended with a worrying moment.
After the final whistle, the striker was seen limping towards the tunnel instead of staying on the pitch to celebrate with supporters.
The situation raised concerns about his fitness ahead of Manchester City’s upcoming matches.
Maresca later revealed that Haaland had told him he was okay, but the coach could not confirm whether the problem was serious.
City also had several other players dealing with physical problems during the match.
Haaland could break even more records
Haaland has already achieved several historic Premier League milestones during his Manchester City career.
In December 2025, he became the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals overall, doing so in only 111 appearances.
Now he has added another record by becoming the quickest to score 100 non-penalty goals.
The latest achievement shows just how dangerous Haaland remains without needing penalties to increase his scoring numbers.
Another historic chapter for Haaland
Breaking records has become a regular part of Haaland’s career.
But reaching 100 non-penalty Premier League goals in only 139 matches is an extraordinary achievement.
By beating Alan Shearer’s 150-game record, Haaland has officially written his name into another chapter of Premier League history.
And with the Manchester City striker still only 26 years old, there could be many more historic milestones ahead.
For now, City supporters will hope that his injury concern is nothing serious as their star striker prepares for another important period of the season.
