The official Ballon d’Or website has revealed remarkable statistics comparing Lamine Yamal with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo before the age of 20. The Barcelona star has already reached 25 Champions League goal contributions, far ahead of both legends at the same age.
Ballon d’Or Reveals Incredible Yamal Record as Messi and Ronaldo Fall Far Behind
Lamine Yamal has received major attention from the official Ballon d’Or website after achieving something that even Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could not match at the same age.
With the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony approaching, the 19-year-old Barcelona superstar continues to make headlines with his incredible performances.
On October 15, the official Ballon d’Or website published an article highlighting Yamal’s remarkable Champions League statistics.
The figures show that Yamal is far ahead of Messi and Ronaldo when comparing their goal contributions in the competition before turning 20.
Ballon d’Or website highlights Yamal’s incredible record
The official Ballon d’Or website praised Yamal following Barcelona’s impressive 4-1 Champions League victory over Galatasaray.
The Spanish winger provided two assists during the match, helping his team secure another important European victory.
Those assists also helped Yamal reach an extraordinary milestone.
He has now recorded 25 direct goal contributions in the Champions League at just 19 years old.
His impressive record includes 12 goals and 13 assists.
According to the Ballon d’Or website, no player of his age has previously achieved such numbers in the competition.
Messi and Ronaldo fall far behind Yamal
The most surprising part of the report is the comparison between Yamal and two of football’s greatest legends.
The official Ballon d’Or website revealed the Champions League statistics of all three players before their 20th birthdays.
Lamine Yamal: 12 goals, 13 assists, 25 goal contributions.
Lionel Messi: 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 goal contributions.
Cristiano Ronaldo: 0 goals, 1 assist, 1 goal contribution.
That means Yamal has already recorded more than eight times as many Champions League goal contributions as Messi had before turning 20.
The difference is even greater when compared with Ronaldo.
These figures underline just how impressive Yamal’s early career has been.
Yamal creates history against Galatasaray
Yamal reached his latest milestone during Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Galatasaray.
The young winger produced two important assists and played a major role in his team’s attacking performance.
His creativity helped Barcelona secure three valuable Champions League points while adding another historic achievement to his career.
According to UEFA, Yamal has now made 35 Champions League appearances.
During those matches, he has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists.
His performances are even more remarkable because he is still only 19 years old.
Can Yamal reach the level of Messi and Ronaldo?
Yamal’s incredible statistics have naturally created comparisons with Messi and Ronaldo.
Both legends enjoyed extraordinary careers and became two of the most successful players in football history.
Messi has won eight Ballon d’Or awards, while Ronaldo has won five.
Although Yamal has achieved better Champions League numbers before the age of 20, that does not mean he has already surpassed their overall careers.
Both Messi and Ronaldo continued improving for many years after turning 20.
The biggest challenge for Yamal will be maintaining his current level over the next decade.
Major attention ahead of Ballon d’Or 2026
The timing of the official website’s article is especially interesting.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place in London on October 26.
Yamal is among the nominees for football’s biggest individual award after another impressive year with Barcelona and Spain.
He is also nominated for the Young Talent of the Year award.
However, the Ballon d’Or website’s praise does not mean Yamal has already won the main trophy.
The award is decided through votes from an international jury of football journalists.
The comparison with Messi and Ronaldo is based on Champions League statistics before age 20, not on the official 2026 Ballon d’Or voting results.
Yamal continues to amaze European football
At just 19 years old, Yamal has already achieved milestones that many experienced footballers never reach.
His 25 Champions League goal contributions show how important he has become for Barcelona.
And the latest comparison published by the official Ballon d’Or website has brought even more attention to his extraordinary talent.
With 12 goals and 13 assists before turning 20, Yamal has established a remarkable early Champions League record that puts him far ahead of Messi and Ronaldo at the same age.
Now, with the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony approaching, the football world will be watching to see whether Barcelona’s young superstar can add another major individual award to his growing collection.
