Bruno Fernandes Makes Shocking Statement About Michael Carrick’s Future
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has made a surprising statement about Michael Carrick’s future following the club’s dramatic 3-2 Champions League victory over AS Roma.
The Red Devils came back from 2-0 down at Old Trafford on November 3, ending their nine-match winless run.
However, Fernandes’ comments after the match quickly attracted attention.
Bruno Fernandes sends strong message about Carrick
Speaking to Amazon Prime after the victory, Fernandes was asked whether the result had saved Carrick’s job.
“We don’t need to save anyone’s job,” the Portuguese midfielder replied.
He explained that the players and the club desperately needed the victory after a difficult period.
Fernandes made it clear that the team’s main responsibility was to improve results, not simply protect the manager’s position.
Bruno breaks silence on rumours of a disagreement
Fernandes also addressed reports suggesting that he had fallen out with Carrick after being dropped to the bench.
The United captain denied reports of a private disagreement and insisted that he still trusted his manager.
He admitted that his performances had not been good enough and accepted Carrick’s decision to leave him out of the team.
Fernandes also confirmed that his belief in the coaching staff and his teammates had not changed.
Man Utd complete incredible comeback against Roma
United were facing another disappointing night after Roma took a 2-0 lead in the opening 18 minutes.
However, Fernandes scored a penalty in the second half before Matheus Cunha struck twice to complete a stunning 3-2 comeback.
The victory ended United’s nine-match winless run and gave Carrick a much-needed boost during a difficult period.
Despite his strong words, Fernandes made it clear that he continues to support Carrick and wants the team to build on this important victory.
