Harry Kane Falls Short of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Historic Champions League Record
Harry Kane has suffered a surprising setback in his race to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible Champions League record, just days after winning the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

The Bayern Munich striker failed to score during his team’s 2-0 victory over Atlético Madrid on November 3, ending his impressive scoring streak.
Kane fails to match Ronaldo’s historic record
Before the match, Kane had scored in 10 consecutive Champions League appearances, putting him just one game away from Ronaldo’s record.
The Portuguese superstar scored in 11 consecutive Champions League matches for Real Madrid between 2017 and 2018, a record that remains unbeaten.
However, Kane failed to find the net against Atlético Madrid, ending his run at 10 matches.
According to UEFA, the England captain remains second on the all-time list, ahead of Robert Lewandowski and Ruud van Nistelrooy, who both achieved nine-match scoring streaks.
Bayern win, but Kane misses his chance
Despite Kane’s disappointment, Bayern Munich secured an important 2-0 victory in Spain.
Lennart Karl opened the scoring in the 54th minute before Konrad Laimer doubled Bayern’s lead in the 74th minute.
Kane provided the assist for Laimer’s goal but could not score himself.

His failure to find the net meant Ronaldo’s historic Champions League record remained safe.
Ronaldo’s incredible record remains unbeaten
Kane’s achievement is still impressive, especially after becoming the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner.
However, Ronaldo’s record remains one of the most difficult scoring achievements in Champions League history.

The former Real Madrid star scored 17 goals during his remarkable 11-match run.
With Kane’s streak now over, Ronaldo continues to hold the record for scoring in the most consecutive Champions League appearances.
