The England team had all their equipment stolen before their first training session in the US. Local police announced they have arrested 2 suspects for questioning.
According to The Guardian, brazen thieves stole a large number of specialized match boots belonging to the stars, footballs, and much of the England team’s expensive training equipment in Kansas City. The unexpected theft dealt a heavy blow to the preparations of coach Thomas Tuchel and his team before their opening group stage match at the 2026 World Cup.
Specifically, the thieves orchestrated the theft while the England team’s logistics staff were transporting luggage from their base camp in Florida to Swope Soccer Village (Missouri). The Kansas City police force received the information, immediately launched an investigation, and quickly apprehended two suspects. US authorities announced they are holding the suspects in custody to expand the investigation. The English Football Association (FA) has not yet issued a specific statement.
Currently, the FA is actively coordinating with the local police force to quickly track down and recover all the stolen property. The English coaching staff is facing a headache as they are preparing for their first training session this afternoon. According to the schedule, next Wednesday, the “Three Lions” will officially begin their group stage campaign with a major clash against Croatia.
British media revealed that inside the stolen shipment were custom-made boots for Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and many other stars. The logistics team of the “Three Lions” must rush to find replacement boots for the players.
Coach Thomas Tuchel has drawn up a meticulous plan to help England aim for the 2026 World Cup championship. Before getting caught up in the stolen equipment incident, England had spent a series of days acclimatizing to the heat in Florida. In 2 friendly matches, England consecutively defeated New Zealand and Costa Rica, thereby giving the squad a morale boost before officially participating in the 2026 World Cup.
The England squad is hitting good form, according to coach Tuchel’s assessment. Midfielder Jude Bellingham has just shone brightly and has a strong chance of taking the starting spot from Morgan Rogers in the number 10 position. In another development, the English medical team is racing against time to help Bukayo Saka recover from his Achilles heel injury in time. The remaining stars of the Three Lions such as Kane, Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, and Marcus Rashford are ready to take the field in top form.
