Atletico mocks Real Madrid’s 150M Euro mega-bid

Real Madrid caused a shock by sending a 150 million Euro offer to buy Julian Alvarez, but Atletico Madrid immediately rejected it and even publicly mocked both Los Blancos and Barcelona on social media.

Atletico Madrid has just created a frenzy on social media by publicly responding to Real Madrid with a highly sarcastic message, after the Spanish Royal club sent an offer worth 150 million euros to sign Julian Alvarez.

Right after Real Madrid confirmed sending an official offer to Atletico Madrid, the cross-town rivals immediately posted a heavily satirical statement on the social network X.

Opening the announcement, Atletico wrote: “Official statement to clarify the official statement from our neighbors.”

The Metropolitano stadium outfit then delivered a series of humorous comebacks. Atletico claimed that Real Madrid had “cut out” the part where the Pope said he is also an Atletico fan, while emphasizing that they have “nothing to thank” their city rivals for.

Most notably was the statement regarding Julian Alvarez: “We are not studying nor are we considering any offers for Julian.”

Not stopping there, Atletico also took the opportunity to take a dig at Barcelona with a storm-causing concluding sentence: “How can we not get along when you guys make us laugh even more than Barcelona.”

Previously, President Florentino Perez had promised to bring in a new “Galactico” if re-elected. After continuing to sit in the Real Madrid president’s chair, he immediately materialized his promise by sending a 150 million Euro offer for Alvarez.

However, Atletico quickly refused. According to many sources in Spain, the Argentine striker currently has a release clause of up to 500 million Euros, and Atletico has absolutely no intention of selling their number one star.

This move is also seen as a response to Barcelona. Previously, Argentine media had revealed that Alvarez had agreed to personal terms with the Catalan team, but Barca’s offer of around 100 million Euros was considered insufficient to convince Atletico. By rejecting both Real Madrid and Barcelona, Atletico Madrid has sent a clear message: Julian Alvarez is an untouchable factor in the capital club’s long-term plans.
