Vinicius Left Frustrated as Mbappe and Mourinho Speak Out After Real Madrid Victory

Vinicius Junior endured another painful night at Real Madrid despite his team’s impressive 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The Brazilian winger was booed by sections of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd before being substituted in the 70th minute.

His disappointed appearance quickly attracted attention, especially as his replacement, Yan Diomande, went on to score a spectacular goal.

Following the match, both Kylian Mbappe and Jose Mourinho publicly defended Vinicius as concerns about his performances continued to grow.

Vinicius booed during Champions League victory

Real Madrid secured a convincing 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig on October 21, but Vinicius experienced another difficult evening.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the Brazilian received two short rounds of boos from sections of the home crowd.

The first happened after he misplaced a pass during a counterattack, while the second came around the time Mourinho decided to replace him.

Vinicius left the pitch with his head down and was later seen sitting on the bench with a serious expression.

After the final whistle, he reportedly went towards the dressing room instead of joining his teammates in applauding the supporters.

A shocking statistic reveals his struggles

One of the most surprising details was Vinicius’ attacking performance.

According to AS, the Brazilian played 70 minutes without attempting a single dribble.

For a player famous for his speed, skill and ability to beat defenders, recording zero dribble attempts was highly unusual.

He managed three shots, including two on target, but failed to score or provide an assist.

His best opportunity came in the first half when Leipzig goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt made an excellent save.

The statistics have raised fresh questions about why one of Madrid’s most dangerous attacking players is struggling to show his usual confidence.

Mbappe breaks silence on Vinicius’ sadness

After the match, Kylian Mbappe was asked about his teammate’s disappointed appearance.

Rather than criticising Vinicius, the French superstar offered his support.

Mbappe suggested that Vinicius’ sadness could actually be a positive sign because it showed how much he wanted to help the team.

Speaking to Movistar Plus, Mbappe encouraged the Brazilian to remain calm, trust his abilities and feel proud of himself.

He also made it clear that he still considers Vinicius an excellent footballer.

His message showed that the Brazilian continues to receive strong support from one of Real Madrid’s biggest stars.

Mourinho explains why he substituted Vinicius

Jose Mourinho also responded to questions about his decision to replace the Brazilian.

The Portuguese manager insisted that he was satisfied with Vinicius’ contribution, particularly without the ball.

According to Mourinho, Vinicius had more defensive responsibilities than Madrid’s other attacking players against Leipzig.

Although the Brazilian was not as dangerous in attack as usual, Mourinho explained that he had performed his tactical duties well.

The manager also insisted that the substitution was not a punishment.

He simply wanted to introduce fresh energy against a tired defence.

Mourinho also acknowledged that being booed by your own supporters can be painful.

His comments made it clear that Vinicius needs support rather than more pressure during this difficult period.

Yan Diomande increases the pressure on Vinicius

Things became more complicated for Vinicius after his replacement produced another impressive performance.

Diomande entered the match in the 70th minute and immediately brought fresh energy to Madrid’s attack.

He provided an assist for Mbappe before scoring a spectacular volley to complete the 4-1 victory.

While Vinicius struggled to make an attacking impact, Diomande needed less than 20 minutes to contribute directly to two goals.

His impressive performance has increased discussion about competition for the left-wing position.

However, Mourinho has not officially announced that Vinicius has lost his starting place.

For now, Diomande simply gives Madrid another strong attacking option.

Can Vinicius return to his best?

Vinicius has been one of Real Madrid’s most important players in recent seasons, but his current performances have not reached the same level.

The Brazilian is also dealing with a four-match domestic suspension following his red card against Villarreal.

With Diomande performing well and supporters demanding better performances, the pressure on Vinicius continues to grow.

However, both Mbappe and Mourinho have publicly defended him, showing that he still has important support inside the dressing room.

Real Madrid’s victory over Leipzig was another positive result, but it also highlighted the difficult situation facing the Brazilian.

Vinicius has already proved that he can perform at the highest level. The biggest question now is how quickly he can rediscover the confidence and form that once made him one of Europe’s most feared attackers.
