After two trophyless seasons, Real Madrid is reportedly ready to spend up to €150 million to sign Michael Olise from Bayern Munich, if Florentino Pérez is re-elected as club president in this weekend’s election.
According to confirmation from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, president Florentino Pérez will trigger a €150 million deal if re-elected at Real Madrid, with the top target being the star currently in spectacular form for Bayern Munich.
Accordingly, the Real Madrid presidential election will take place this weekend. Incumbent president Florentino Pérez is considered to have a strong chance of winning against his opponent, Enrique Riquelme.
During the election campaign, both candidates have made ambitious promises to win over the fans. While Riquelme drew attention with his plan to sign Erling Haaland, Pérez also hinted at a massive offer for a “Galáctico” caliber star as early as next week.
Despite publicly denying mentioning Michael Olise, multiple sources, including The Guardian, indicate that the Bayern Munich winger is actually the number one target Real Madrid wants to pursue in this year’s summer transfer window.
Alongside Olise, the Spanish Royal club is also reportedly interested in PSG’s Vitinha. However, if he continues at the helm of the club, Pérez is highly likely to prioritize dedicating all resources to the Olise deal.
Joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in 2024, Olise quickly rose to become one of the best attacking players in the world. The French star played a major role in helping Bayern win two consecutive Bundesliga titles under the guidance of Vincent Kompany.
However, Bayern certainly does not want to lose their precious jewel. The contract between Olise and the Bavarian club is still valid until 2029, meaning Real Madrid will face numerous difficulties if they want to complete this transfer deal.
Notably, José Mourinho, who is reportedly set to return to the hot seat at Real Madrid if Pérez is re-elected, directly watched Olise play in last month’s DFB-Pokal (German Cup) final between Bayern Munich and Stuttgart. This move further fueled speculation about plans to sign the French international.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s honorary president, Uli Hoeness, affirmed that Olise is a player who is “not for sale,” showcasing the German club’s firm stance.
Real Madrid is heading into a turbulent summer after two trophyless years across all competitions. The Bernabéu outfit has reportedly reached an agreement to sign Ibrahima Konaté on a free transfer, while also completing the steps to bring Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan to Spain. If the Olise deal is successful, it promises to be Los Blancos’ most high-profile signing of the 2026 summer.
