The 41-year-old Al Nassr superstar has been selected for an initial squad prepared by head coach Jorge Jesus, despite their recent disagreement.
According to Portuguese newspaper O JOGO, with confirmation from A Bola, Ronaldo is being considered for Portugal’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
However, his place in the final squad has not yet been confirmed.
Ronaldo included despite controversy with Jorge Jesus
Ronaldo’s possible return comes after a major controversy during Portugal’s September international break.
The Portuguese captain was left on the bench during the match against Norway, despite warming up during the second half.

He later left the national team camp on September 30 following disagreements with Jorge Jesus over his role in the squad.
Ronaldo accused the coach of breaking previous promises about his involvement in the national team.
However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner also admitted that leaving the training camp was a mistake and apologised to his teammates and supporters.
Ronaldo’s suspension set to end
Following the incident, the Portuguese Football Federation handed Ronaldo a 30-day suspension and a fine of €255.
The suspension is scheduled to end on October 30, meaning Ronaldo will be available for Portugal’s November matches if selected.
Both Jorge Jesus and federation president Pedro Proença have previously left the door open for the captain’s return.

His inclusion in the preliminary squad is therefore an encouraging sign that he could play for Portugal again.
Portugal prepare for November Nations League matches
Portugal will face Denmark on November 14 before travelling to Wales on November 17.
The team has already secured a place in the Nations League quarter-finals after winning its first four group matches.
Ronaldo’s name is among approximately 50 players being considered by Jorge Jesus for the upcoming fixtures.

The final squad is expected to be announced on November 6.
For now, Ronaldo’s return remains uncertain, but his inclusion in the preliminary list is an important step after weeks of controversy.
The final decision will determine whether Portugal’s legendary captain can put his disagreement with Jorge Jesus behind him and return to international football.
