Barcelona reject huge PSG move for Ferran Torres

FC Barcelona had been waiting for PSG to make their first official offer for Ferran Torres, 26-year-old, and the proposal finally arrived on Monday. According to Mundo Deportivo, the French club offered €40 million as a fixed fee, but Barcelona rejected the bid because they want a higher amount for the Spanish forward.

Barça are aware that Ferran has already reached an agreement with PSG and wants to complete his move to Paris as soon as possible. However, Barcelona will not give the transfer the “OK” until PSG make an offer that meets their demands. The Catalan club believe Torres has strong value in the transfer market, especially after playing an important role for Spain during their successful World Cup campaign.

Barcelona also understand that this is a normal part of transfer negotiations. PSG’s first offer was lower than Barça’s asking price, but the French champions could increase their bid as they look to complete the signing as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that PSG have prepared a total package worth around €50 million for Torres and even suggested that the two clubs are close to a verbal agreement. However, sources close to Barcelona insist that the only official offer received so far is the €40 million bid, which the club have already rejected.
