But Yamal did much more than simply help his team collect three points.

He achieved the remarkable feat at just 19 years and 92 days old.
The next-youngest player to achieve the same feat was Mesut Özil in 2011 when he was 22.
That means Yamal has reached the milestone around three years earlier than the former Germany international.
Two assists against Galatasaray
Barcelona did not have an easy start in Istanbul and found themselves behind before fighting back.
After the visitors returned to level terms, Yamal began to take control of the game.
He created Barcelona’s second goal for Fermín López before producing another brilliant piece of play to set up Anthony Gordon only minutes later.
The two assists helped Barcelona turn a difficult match into a comfortable 4-1 victory.
Record started against Feyenoord
Yamal had already produced an excellent performance in Barcelona’s opening Champions League match of the season.
Against Feyenoord, he scored once and provided two assists as Barcelona secured a 5-1 victory.
He then followed those two assists with another two against Galatasaray.
That back-to-back creativity was enough to put Yamal into the Champions League record books.
Yamal leads major Champions League statistics
Yamal’s start to the European season has been extraordinary.
After two Champions League matches, he has recorded one goal and four assists.
His four assists currently put him at the top of the competition’s assist rankings.

He has also recorded five direct goal contributions while creating four big chances.
Yamal is also among the competition’s leading players for successful dribbles and touches inside the opposition penalty area.
More than just goals and assists
The numbers only tell part of the story.
Yamal repeatedly caused problems for Galatasaray with his close control, passing and ability to beat defenders.
His involvement in Barcelona’s third goal was one of the best examples.

The winger used his skill to escape defenders before creating another dangerous opportunity for his teammate.
At just 19, he is already becoming one of Barcelona’s most important attacking players on the biggest European stage.
Another record falls to Yamal
Breaking records has become increasingly normal for the Barcelona star.
Since making his Champions League debut at 16, Yamal has repeatedly reached major milestones earlier than some of Europe’s greatest players.
He has now added another historic achievement to that growing list.
No player has ever produced multiple assists in consecutive Champions League appearances at a younger age.
Barcelona star shows no signs of slowing down
Barcelona have started their Champions League campaign strongly and Yamal has been at the centre of their attacking success.
With four assists and five direct goal contributions after only two matches, his influence has been impossible to ignore.
The season is still in its early stages, meaning there could be many more records ahead.
For now, Yamal has another piece of Champions League history to his name after a brilliant night against Galatasaray.
