Cristiano Ronaldo’s close friend Piers Morgan has launched a furious attack on Erik ten Hag, accusing the former Manchester United manager of twisting the truth about the Portuguese superstar.
Ronaldo’s Close Friend Hits Back at Ten Hag Over Shocking Man Utd Claims
Cristiano Ronaldo’s close friend Piers Morgan has launched a furious attack on Erik ten Hag after the former Manchester United manager made shocking accusations about the Portuguese superstar’s behaviour at Old Trafford.
On October 20, Ten Hag publicly criticised Ronaldo’s attitude towards training and claimed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner had let Manchester United down.
However, Morgan quickly came to Ronaldo’s defence, accusing the Dutch coach of twisting the truth.
Piers Morgan attacks Ten Hag over Ronaldo claims
Reacting to Ten Hag’s interview with The Athletic, Morgan expressed his anger on social media platform X.
“WHAT? This is a disgusting travesty of the truth,” Morgan wrote.
The British journalist strongly rejected Ten Hag’s version of events, suggesting that the former United manager was unfairly blaming Ronaldo.
But Morgan did not stop there.
In another post, he also criticised Ten Hag’s coaching record, pointing to his departures from Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen.
Morgan described the Dutchman as “useless” and questioned his ability to manage a major football club.
Ten Hag makes serious accusations against Ronaldo
The controversy began when Ten Hag revealed new details about his difficult relationship with Ronaldo during the 2022/23 season.
According to the Dutch coach, Ronaldo failed to meet the team’s training and fitness requirements.
He also claimed the Portuguese forward sometimes withdrew from training sessions and encouraged teammates to save energy during practice.
“He let the team down, and he let me down,” Ten Hag said.
The former manager insisted that even football’s biggest stars must follow team rules and work hard for their teammates.
However, these remain Ten Hag’s claims, and Morgan has publicly challenged his account.
Old Ronaldo and Ten Hag feud returns
Morgan has been a strong supporter of Ronaldo for several years.
In November 2022, he conducted the famous interview in which Ronaldo publicly criticised Manchester United and revealed that he did not respect Ten Hag.
Shortly afterwards, Ronaldo left Old Trafford by mutual agreement and later joined Al Nassr.
Nearly four years later, their disagreement has returned to the headlines, with Morgan once again defending the Portuguese legend.
However, Ronaldo has not yet issued a confirmed public response to Ten Hag’s latest accusations.
Will Ronaldo finally respond to Ten Hag?
Morgan’s furious reaction has brought fresh attention to one of Manchester United’s biggest controversies.
While Ten Hag believes Ronaldo failed to meet his expectations, Morgan strongly disagrees with the former manager’s account.
For now, the disagreement remains unresolved, and there is no independent evidence proving which version of events is correct.
With his close friend already speaking out, football fans are now waiting to see whether Cristiano Ronaldo will personally respond to Ten Hag.
Could this be the beginning of another explosive chapter in their long-running feud?
