Lamine Yamal Achieves Incredible Feat No Player in Europe’s Top Five Leagues Has Managed This Season
Lamine Yamal has officially reached another incredible milestone after becoming the first player from Europe’s top five leagues to record 10 assists across all competitions this season.
The Barcelona superstar continued his outstanding form during his team’s impressive 5-2 victory over Real Betis on October 17.
The 19-year-old scored once and provided another assist, taking his numbers to an extraordinary level.
Yamal has now recorded nine goals and 10 assists in just 11 appearances for Barcelona during the 2026/27 campaign.
Yamal reaches a milestone no other top-five league player has achieved this season
Yamal’s latest performance has placed him ahead of some of Europe’s biggest stars in the race to reach 10 assists this season.
He is the first player from Europe’s five major domestic leagues to reach that milestone across all club competitions in 2026/27.
His record includes six assists in La Liga and four in the Champions League.
He has also scored eight league goals and one Champions League goal.
That gives him a total of 19 direct goal contributions in only 11 matches.
The achievement is especially impressive because the Barcelona winger is still only 19 years old.
Yamal shines in Barcelona’s 5-2 victory
Yamal played a major role as Barcelona defeated Real Betis in Seville.
He opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a brilliant finish, giving Hansi Flick’s side an early advantage.
But he was far from finished.
In the 51st minute, Yamal provided the assist for Gabriel Jesus to score Barcelona’s third goal.
That assist took the Spanish international to the remarkable total of 10 for the season.
Rodri, Eric GarcÃa and Dani Olmo also scored as Barcelona completed a convincing 5-2 victory.
Incredible numbers at just 19 years old
Yamal’s attacking numbers have been remarkable since the beginning of the campaign.
After 11 appearances across La Liga and the Champions League, his record stands at:
Matches: 11
Goals: 9
Assists: 10
Total goal contributions: 19
That means Yamal is averaging more than one direct goal contribution per match.
Few players have started the new European season with such impressive attacking numbers.
Barcelona continue their perfect start
Yamal’s incredible form has been a major part of Barcelona’s success under Hansi Flick.
The victory over Betis was the club’s ninth consecutive La Liga win at the start of the season.
Barcelona have now won all nine league matches and scored an incredible 39 goals.
That achievement also allowed the Catalan club to equal Real Madrid’s historic league record from the 1968/69 season.
With Yamal leading the attack, Barcelona remain one of the most dangerous teams in European football.
More big challenges ahead for Yamal
Barcelona now face an important period in their season.
They are scheduled to meet Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on October 20 before facing Real Madrid in El Clásico on October 25.
Those two matches will provide another major test for Yamal and his teammates.
His performances will also attract attention ahead of the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 26.
However, his latest statistical milestone does not mean he has already won any individual award.
Yamal continues to amaze Europe
At only 19 years old, Yamal is already producing numbers that many experienced football stars would be proud of.
His ability to score goals and create chances has made him one of Barcelona’s most important players.
By becoming the first player from Europe’s top five leagues to reach 10 assists across all competitions this season, Yamal has achieved another remarkable milestone.
With nine goals and 10 assists after just 11 matches, his extraordinary start to the 2026/27 campaign is showing no signs of slowing down.
And with major matches against PSG and Real Madrid approaching, the young Barcelona star has another opportunity to prove himself on the biggest stage.
