Cristiano Ronaldo has surprised football fans after refusing to keep the Man of the Match award following Al Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al Faisaly. Instead, the Portuguese superstar handed the prize to teammate Abdullah Al-Hamdan, who later shared an emotional message about the football legend.

Cristiano Ronaldo Refuses Award Before Making Incredible Gesture Towards Teammate

Cristiano Ronaldo has surprised football fans around the world after refusing to keep an individual award and making an incredible gesture towards one of his Al Nassr teammates.

The Portuguese superstar helped Al Nassr secure an important 3-1 victory over Al Faisaly in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, October 23.

Ronaldo scored during the match and was selected to receive the Man of the Match award.

However, instead of accepting the prize for himself, the 41-year-old made an unexpected decision.

Ronaldo personally handed the award to Saudi Arabian striker Abdullah Al-Hamdan, who had also produced an outstanding performance.

The heartwarming moment was captured on video and quickly attracted attention across social media.

Ronaldo refuses Man of the Match award

Following Al Nassr’s victory, Ronaldo was chosen as the best player of the match.

However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner decided that his teammate deserved the recognition more.

According to GOAL, Ronaldo approached Al-Hamdan after the final whistle and invited him to receive the award.

The Al Nassr captain then personally presented the prize to the Saudi forward before posing for photographs together.

Ronaldo also allowed Al-Hamdan to take his own pictures with the award.

The moment was recorded by Saudi broadcaster Thmanyah Sports and shared online.

Fans quickly praised the gesture, with many highlighting Ronaldo’s willingness to recognise his teammate’s contribution.

For a player famous for his desire to win individual honours, choosing to give up the award was a particularly memorable moment.

Why Ronaldo gave the award to Abdullah Al-Hamdan

Ronaldo’s decision came after an impressive performance from Al-Hamdan against Al Faisaly.

The Saudi striker opened the scoring in the fourth minute, giving Al Nassr an early advantage.

Ronaldo then doubled the lead in the 49th minute with a powerful header from Joao Felix’s free-kick delivery.

Al Faisaly reduced the deficit through Theo Bongonda in the 66th minute.

However, Al-Hamdan played another important role when he provided the assist for Angelo Gabriel to score Al Nassr’s third goal in the 79th minute.

The Saudi forward finished the match with one goal and one assist, helping his team secure all three points.

He also created another chance for Ronaldo, who found the net before the goal was ruled out for offside.

His excellent performance explains why Ronaldo wanted him to receive the individual prize.

Al-Hamdan sends emotional message to Ronaldo

Following the match, Abdullah Al-Hamdan spoke publicly about Ronaldo’s unexpected gesture.

In an interview with Thmanyah Sports, the Saudi forward expressed his happiness at receiving the award from his legendary teammate.

Al-Hamdan described playing alongside Ronaldo as a great honour and said he hoped the moment would motivate him to improve further.

He also praised the Portuguese star for his behaviour both on and off the pitch.

According to Al-Hamdan, Ronaldo regularly helps his teammates and shares his experience with younger players.

The Saudi striker explained that the entire squad learns from Ronaldo, who is always willing to guide and support others.

Al-Hamdan also expressed his hope that they could achieve more success together and make Al Nassr supporters happy.

His comments showed how much the gesture meant to him.

Ronaldo’s gesture attracts attention on social media

The video of Ronaldo presenting the award to Al-Hamdan quickly became a major talking point.

According to GOAL and Saudi media, supporters reacted positively to the moment.

Many fans saw the decision as an example of Ronaldo’s leadership and respect for his teammates.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has been known for his incredible determination to score goals, break records and win individual awards.

However, this time he chose to put his teammate in the spotlight.

Rather than celebrating his own performance, the Portuguese captain wanted Al-Hamdan to receive recognition for helping Al Nassr win.

The moment offered another example of how Ronaldo can influence the players around him beyond his own goalscoring achievements.

Al Nassr secure important Saudi Pro League victory

The 3-1 victory over Al Faisaly was another positive result for Al Nassr.

It marked the club’s third consecutive league win and continued their push towards the top of the Saudi Pro League table.

Following the match, Al Nassr moved onto 25 points, level with Al Qadsiah at the top of the standings before other results were completed.

Ronaldo’s goal helped secure the victory, but Al-Hamdan’s performance was just as important to the final result.

The Saudi striker showed that he could make a difference when given an opportunity to start alongside one of football’s greatest players.

His goal, assist and overall contribution made him one of Al Nassr’s standout performers.

Ronaldo shows another side of his leadership

At 41 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the biggest names in world football.

The Portuguese superstar continues to chase goals and trophies while playing an important role in Al Nassr’s attack.

However, his latest gesture has attracted attention for a different reason.

Instead of focusing on another personal award, Ronaldo chose to recognise a teammate who had played an important role in the victory.

For Abdullah Al-Hamdan, receiving the prize directly from Ronaldo was a special moment.

For Al Nassr supporters, it was a reminder of the experience and leadership their captain brings to the squad.

Ronaldo may have scored again against Al Faisaly, but his decision to give away the Man of the Match award became one of the most memorable moments of the evening.
