According to the Manchester Evening News, Bayern Munich is seriously considering signing forward Marcus Rashford during the 2026 summer transfer window.
After an impressive season playing on loan at Barcelona, Rashford was expected to continue his journey with the Catalan team. The 28-year-old striker made his mark with 28 goal contributions in 49 matches during the 2025/26 season, becoming one of the standout figures in the attack.

However, Rashford’s plans were unexpectedly turned upside down when Barcelona shifted their focus to Anthony Gordon. The English star arrived at Camp Nou in a deal reportedly worth over £69 million, which almost completely closed the door on Rashford’s chances of staying.
According to multiple sources in England, Barcelona still has until early next week to activate the £26 million buyout clause. However, official negotiations with MU have not made significant progress, making the possibility of the deal being finalized increasingly fragile.
In that context, Bayern Munich has emerged as a potential destination. The Bundesliga champions are looking for additional options for the left flank as well as a quality choice to share the attacking burden with Harry Kane. After crossing several targets off their shopping list, the German team is said to have turned their attention to Rashford.
For his part, the England international is currently focused with the national team preparing for the 2026 World Cup. However, his position in coach Thomas Tuchel’s squad is no longer guaranteed after Gordon just delivered a brilliant performance in the 3-0 victory over Costa Rica.
At the age of 28, Rashford understands that he needs to play regularly to maintain his status within the England national team. Therefore, finding a suitable destination early in the summer of 2026 is considered a decisive factor for the next chapter in his career.
