Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have combined for 16 goals in Barcelona’s first six La Liga matches, moving past the 15-goal mark set by Lionel Messi and Cesc Fàbregas 15 years ago.
Yamal and Raphinha move past Messi and Fàbregas with stunning scoring start

Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have reached a remarkable Barcelona milestone after their latest goals in the 7-2 victory over Racing Santander.
The two forwards have now scored a combined 16 goals in Barcelona’s first six La Liga matches of the 2026/27 season.
That is one more than the 15 goals Lionel Messi and Cesc Fàbregas managed at the same stage of the 2011/12 campaign.
The mark had stood for 15 years.
Yamal and Raphinha reach 16 goals
Raphinha and Yamal both played major roles in Barcelona’s huge win over Racing Santander.
Raphinha scored a hat-trick, while Yamal added the final goal late in the match.
Those goals took their combined La Liga total to 16.
Raphinha now has nine league goals.
Yamal has seven.
Together, they have produced the strongest scoring start by a Barcelona pair after six La Liga matches.
They move past Messi and Fàbregas
The previous mark belonged to two major Barcelona names.
During the 2011/12 season, Messi and Fàbregas combined for 15 goals in the club’s first six league games.
That record remained untouched for 15 years.

Now Yamal and Raphinha have moved beyond it.
With 16 goals between them, the current Barcelona pair have created a new benchmark at this stage of a La Liga season.
Raphinha leads the way
Raphinha has been one of the biggest reasons behind Barcelona’s strong start.
The Brazilian has scored nine La Liga goals in six matches.
His hat-trick against Racing Santander also moved him back to the top of the league’s scoring chart.

He had briefly lost that position to Kylian Mbappé after Real Madrid’s previous match.
But three goals against Racing quickly changed the situation again.
Yamal continues his incredible scoring run
Yamal is also enjoying the best scoring run of his career.
His goal against Racing was his seventh in La Liga this season.

It also meant he had scored in four consecutive league matches for the first time in his senior career.
Across all competitions, Yamal has now scored in five straight matches.
That is another personal best for the 19-year-old.
Four of Barcelona’s seven goals came from the pair
The win over Racing showed exactly why the two attackers are becoming so important.
Raphinha scored three times.
Yamal added another late in the game.
Together, they scored four of Barcelona’s seven goals on the night.
Yamal also contributed creatively during the match, while Raphinha remained dangerous throughout the game.
The pair are not only scoring regularly.
They are also becoming the centre of Barcelona’s attack.
Barcelona’s attack is flying
The numbers behind Barcelona’s start to the season are just as impressive.
The Catalan side have won all six of their opening La Liga matches.
They have already scored 28 league goals.
Yamal and Raphinha alone have scored 16 of them.
That means the pair have been responsible for more than half of Barcelona’s league goals so far.
Another historic start for Barcelona
The 7-2 victory also continued a historic opening to the season for Hansi Flick’s team.
Barcelona have now won their first seven competitive matches in all competitions.
It is the first time in club history that Barcelona have started a season with seven straight competitive victories.

Yamal and Raphinha have been central to that run.
Both players have produced goals, assists and decisive moments during the opening weeks of the campaign.
Two different players, one dangerous partnership
Yamal and Raphinha bring different qualities to Barcelona’s attack.
Yamal is known for his dribbling, creativity and ability to create chances from wide areas.
Raphinha offers movement, direct running and an increasing goal threat inside the penalty area.
Together, they are giving Barcelona one of the most dangerous attacking partnerships in Spain.
And the numbers are already starting to place them alongside some of the club’s most famous names.
A 15-year record is gone
Messi and Fàbregas set a remarkable standard back in 2011.
For 15 years, no Barcelona pair managed to beat their 15-goal total after six league matches.
Now Yamal and Raphinha have done it.

Raphinha: 9 goals.
Lamine Yamal: 7 goals.
Total: 16 goals.
The season is still young, but Barcelona’s two in-form attackers have already written their names into the club’s record books.
