According to the latest statistics from Transfermarkt, the France national team currently possesses the most expensive squad in the tournament, with a total value reaching €1.53 billion.
Head coach Didier Deschamps’s team is bringing one of the highest-quality, star-studded lineups in the world to North America. Leading the pack is Kylian Mbappé with a valuation of €200 million. Alongside him, Michael Olise has also made a spectacular leap following a sublime season with Bayern Munich, raising his value to €150 million.
With 26 players called up, each member of the French squad has an average value of around €58.7 million, the highest among the 48 teams participating in this year’s World Cup.
Ranked right behind them is the England national team, with a total squad value reaching €1.331 billion. The “Three Lions” continue to boast a promising golden generation with names like Jude Bellingham (€140 million), and the duo of Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, both valued at €120 million.
Meanwhile, reigning European champions Spain sit in third place with a squad worth approximately €1.26 billion. Yamal is now valued at up to €200 million—on par with Mbappé—while Pedri has reached the €150 million mark.
Aside from the top three teams, Portugal also makes a strong impression by surpassing the €1 billion threshold in squad value. With a combination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s experience and the youthful energy of numerous stars playing for top European clubs, the Seleção are considered prime candidates for the championship.
Another major surprise comes from Norway. Making their first World Cup appearance after years of waiting, the Nordic team has climbed to 9th place in squad value at approximately €600 million. The vast majority of this value comes from Erling Haaland, who is individually valued at €200 million.
Currently, Haaland, Mbappé, and Yamal are the only three players in the world to reach the €200 million valuation mark, showcasing the extraordinary appeal of the superstars expected to shine brightest at the 2026 World Cup.
