Real Madrid is close to acquiring Marc Cucurella after reaching an agreement with Chelsea on the transfer of the Spanish left-back for the 2026/27 season.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Santiago Bernabeu outfit has agreed to spend an amount exceeding 50 million euros to bring Cucurella back to La Liga. The player born in 1998 has also agreed to personal terms and is ready to join Real Madrid in the near future.
Cucurella grew up in the Barcelona youth academy before moving on to play for Eibar, Getafe, Brighton, and then Chelsea. After a difficult period when he first arrived at Stamford Bridge, the defender gradually proved his worth with consistent performances at both the club and national team levels.
His ability to consistently contribute to both attack and defense, his abundant stamina, and his tactical flexibility have helped Cucurella become one of the highly-rated left-backs in Europe.
