FA shockingly seals Tuchel’s future after Argentina defeat

The Football Association still places full trust in Thomas Tuchel after the defeat to Argentina, confirming the German strategist will continue leading the Three Lions.

Despite the regrettable defeat to Argentina in the 2026 World Cup semi-finals and pressure from public opinion, the Football Association (FA) has decided to continue placing its trust in manager Thomas Tuchel. According to Daily Mail Sport, the German strategist will not face the risk of being sacked and remains the person to lead the “Three Lions” on the journey toward EURO 2028.

The 1-2 defeat to Argentina in Atlanta caused the England team to miss out on the opportunity to feature in the final match. Tuchel’s team started favorably as Anthony Gordon opened the scoring and maintained the advantage for most of the match. However, tactical adjustments in defense during the second half caused the tide of the match to turn, allowing Enzo Fernandez to equalize before Lautaro Martinez scored the decisive goal in injury time.

Immediately after the match, many experts and fans raised questions about Tuchel’s future. Quite a few opinions argued that the 52-year-old strategist would have to pay the price after this painful defeat.

However, the FA holds a completely different view. Sources from Daily Mail Sport confirm that the Association’s leadership still highly values what Tuchel has built and has no plans to change the head coach position. If the German strategist wishes to continue his job, he will receive absolute backing.

After the loss to Argentina, Tuchel did not dodge responsibility either. He admitted he was the person to take responsibility for the result but asserted he had no regrets regarding the tactical decisions he made.

The German manager simultaneously reaffirmed the goal of leading England to conquer EURO 2028 on home soil. “We still have one match ahead. After that, the entire team will look toward the EURO and I really look forward to that journey,” Tuchel shared.

Meanwhile, FA Chief Executive Mark Bullingham also sent words of encouragement to the whole team instead of criticizing the coaching staff. “It is heartbreaking that we got so close to the final. The players, Thomas, and the entire coaching staff gave everything. We also want to thank the fans for always standing by the team.”

In the immediate future, England will close their 2026 World Cup campaign with the third-place match against France, before starting preparations for their next major goal: conquering the EURO 2028 touraments.
