An agreement between the two sides could be announced in the near future. This source stated that the parties only have to finalize the last terms before the deal is officially confirmed.
Lewandowski’s decision closes the race for the signature of one of the best center-forwards in European football for over a decade. Previously, he received many large offers, especially from Saudi Arabian clubs, but ultimately chose the US as his destination.
Chicago Fire does not have to pay a transfer fee to Barcelona, because Lewandowski is leaving on a free transfer. The MLS team only needs to reach a personal agreement with the Polish striker.
